I am still baffled that Google has not gotten its act together and fixed this ongoing issue with Google alerts not working! I wrote a post about it on 2/22/2013. Over a month later, and the issue has not been resolved. I just learned about this alternative, and I’ve read that it is a formidable option to Google’s ever failing alerts system. Try Talkwalker alerts system. Please share by commenting below if you like this option. Thus far, I feel it’s a mirror system to Google’s now defunct system. As a social media marketing agency based out of Miami, Florida, following trends on a daily basis is an integral part of our work. I am quite excited about Talkwalker.
Wishing you a great day,

I am actually really excited about this app. VisualCV affords you the forum to create your own digital CV/resume. It’s interactive. VisualCV lets you create an Internet-based, media-rich resume and share it with potential employers. Using the tool, you can build a resume that uses visuals to make it more appealing to look at. For the last few years there’s been a trend to stand out from the crowd, so many people seeking jobs opted to have a website designed on their behalf and sent out the link to their site when applying for jobs. Although I am a web designer (our agency is based out of Miami, Florida), I am happy that there is a free or less expensive alternative for people who are unemployed. Have a look at some wonderful examples.
Please do share this post with anyone you know that is looking for a job. It’s a good deed, and you may just help them change their current difficult situation.
I’d love to hear from you if this app/site helped you find and land a job.
Wishing you much luck in all of your future endeavors,
I am in a bit of a pickle. My incredibly generous mom gifts me with the latest technological gadgets on the market. As my web design business flourished over the last few years (simultaneously with the advancement of mobile and hand-held devices), so did my need to make sure that my clients’ websites were compatible on the Android, Blackberry aka Crackberry, iPhone, iPad, the Blackberry tab, gee whiz…….. I am getting tired just typing out of all these devices.
In any event, thanks to my mom, I own all of these devices. Let’s just be honest, this bargainista hates paying full price… ANYHOO, I digress……..
Back to my dilemma. I own a social media marketing agency. I design fabulous dynamic websites. I have to download, review and send out PDF files all day long. My beloved Crackberry went into retirement early on last year. I was gifted the Android. Tested out all my clients’ websites. Beautiful. I made my husband get the iPhone. Again, tested- Eco Press approved. BAM! my website designs……… FLAWLESS.
I so miss my Crackberry. Not sure what to do, here. Not feeling my Android. Love, love, love- ok, GAGA for my iPad………. BUT, my unmitigated love for the Blackberry lingers!
What’s a self-professed social media maven to do? Would love your opinion. Which mobile device is your FAVE? Do you use your laptop more often for searches on Google, or your phone?
Inquiring marketing mind wants to know………
So I am the self-proclaimed social media maven. I admit it. I love the gadgets that allow me to use all the apps to manage my clients’ search engine marketing campaigns. I own the Blackberry tablet, and the iPad 2 tablet. I have to admit- I love, love, love my iPad. I use it daily, in increments of several hours at a time. Now a new gadget is about to hit the market, Google is coming out with it’s Android powered Nexus 7, titled the Jelly Bean.
Personally, I don’t know why Google is lagging behind……… I mean the iPad has been on the market for several years, with many other tablet versions. I think that to catch up Google is smart to price the Nexus 7 at the very affordable price of $199 for a 8GB tab, and $249 for a 16GB tab. This way, it makes it much more affordable to the masses. I think it’s their plan to tap into the market, and beat out their competitors. I am still loyal to the iPad, but for the price of $199, I will definitely try out he Nexus 7.
Wishing you a great day!
Cheers,
Anabelle Taub
